Roddy White would let his son play for Petrino

By D. Orlando Ledbetter

Roddy over Nakamura

Falcons wide receiver Roddy White is back!!!!!

His twitter feed was dormant for most of the season as he battled through a high ankle sprain and then a hamstring injury.

Once he recovered, he finished out the season strong and ended up with 63 catches for 711 yards and three touchdowns.

During interviews during the season, we heard from “Sad Roddy.”  He was clearly depressed that he was healthy.

As well all know, “Happy Roddy” is a hoot and a quote a minute.

It’s pretty clear that “Happy Roddy” is back.

He weighed in on Louisville’s hiring of Bobby Petrino and said he’d send his son to play for Petrino.

To understand that tweet you have to know that Roddy struggled early in his career and finally got going in his third season under the direction of Petrino and his brother Paul Petrino, who was the wide receivers coach in 2007.

To contrast that, former tight end Alge Crumpler said on the Locker Room show on 790 The Zone that he would not send his son to play for Petrino.

Roddy also dealt with some other subjects:

–He believes Mike Tice would help the line and get the Falcons back to a 13-win team.

–He believes the Falcons are fine on offense if everyone gets healthy.

–Getting Jadeveon Clowney would be helpful because he could make the Oline better by going against them in practice.

Welcome back “Happy Roddy!”

Roddy needs to be drug tested. It will take us a good 2 to 3 years to get back on track,IF we do some wheeling and dealing. so far TD is not doing good in the draft. Clowney is a Joke, we don't need a cry baby  or let him play when he feels likeit. We need players like JJ Watts or the one that TD over looked Clay Matthews. The 2 new line coaches will be a bust.

Even if the Falcons get Clowney don't expect a 1st rd bye any time soon...just ask JJ Watt. The 1st 3 picks should go towards offensive and defensive lines. We need more than a pass rusher. We can't stop the run either. We can't run the ball or protect the passer. To say we "don't need Matthews" is just ridiculous. We need a RG and either a LT or RT. Not sure what Konz is anymore. We have no starting caliber DT's under contract. Thomas DeCoud is still at last years Pro Bowl and the Steven Jackson experiment was a complete failure. I would start by cutting Asante, SJax and Osi. When Kroy comes back he and Goodman and Massaquioa can produce pretty much what Osi did this year. Asante is done...simple as that. SJax has very little left and no need keeping him around. You can draft very good RB's in the middle rounds these days, Nice ones in FA also. Please sign a vet backup safety with plenty of tread left to replace DeCoud when he goes soft like this past season. Not sure who this blocking TE will be since they seem to want to go back to a power run game. Toilolo is not that type dude. Good luck being the GM on this team in 2014. Cutting certain players frees up cap space. They're gonna need every penny if Arthur Blank expects a drastic turn around. #WiseUp

Why post his Tweets in the Newspaper? 99.9% of us could give a rats a$% what he thinks. Are you that stretched for material to print? Bring back the days when newspapers actually had writers. The AJC these days is reduced to linking to videos and reposting tweets. And then they have the balls to ask us to pay to read what idiots like Mark Bradley and Jeff Schultz have to say.

Give up ppl we ARE NOT going to get Mathews. We don't need him. We need a pass rusher. We can address the o line with free agency veterans that know what they are doing.

Does nobody see Roddy's comic genius here?

Orlando... check the facts. Roddy hates Petrino. His tweet is obviously a sarcastic trolling of his ex-coach, the "coward" he claimed he was the day he quit. Bobby Petrino and "great values" - that's hilarious! His tweet yesterday was equally as ripe, "Louisville got a great coach today bobby will have them back in the bcs soon." Getting Louisville back to a BCS that no longer exists - it's brilliant, really.

Other than that, I like the headline.

"blatant misinformation??

I didn't want to be specific but….White tied for the second lowest score all time, along with Frank Gore and Maurice Claiborne with a 4. He was allowed a second chance and scored a 17…and this significant jump created a lot of questions about how he did this.   Roddy couldn't pass a grammar school pre-algrabraic question; the man can't formulate a coherent sentence.

Now, what is it about these three that you and they have in common?

Clowney will probably be gone and Roddy is clearly delusional if he thinks the o-line does not need upgrades. The owner, the GM and the GC obviously think otherwise. Not sure why Roddy thinks so much on Twitter but he should keep his thoughts to himself since he rarely shows the capacity for rational statements.

"He was clearly depressed that he was healthy." Some editing needed in this article.  Also, no need to repeat what we could already read in his Tweets!

Finally, Roddy has an 18-year-old son?

Clowney is the man, he alone takes care of two offensive linemen.

I dislike many things about Roddy White as a person off the football field; however putting out blatant misinformation about his Wonderlic score (a 17) serves no one well. Shoot, Blaine Gabbert scored a 42, where is he going to be next year? By the way, a 4 has been scored by multiple players. That includes Super Bowl champion and locker room leader Frank Gore.

JSS,

We finally agree on something!

Well, certainly Mr. "Free Mike Vick" is the farthest one for a role model so he's probably let his son play for the devil himself should a place like Louisville, Auburn or Tennessee hire him as head coach.

Remember, Roddy had one of the lowest scores on the Wonderlic in NFL history…he's not just dumb, he's country dumb!

Alge gets it, Roddy doesn't. Alge played for Reeves, Fisher, Belichick, and Mora, he knows the difference between a "smoke blower," a "professional football coach,"  and than "fecal matter" (see the new Louisville coach).

Here is what  I feel the Falcons should do Pick up 2 starters in free agency and 2 in the draft!! 2 O-line and 2 D-Line, also go to ZBS that should help fix some problems on the Oline.

We could get Clowney, plus a quality OT. Our second round pick is high enough for us to trade back into the middle of the first round (like we did to get Baker) and pick up both a starter on DLine and potential starter for the OL on the first day.

Big memory lapse there by Roddy.  It is definitely NOT the same line that won 13 games last year.  How could he forget Dahl & Clabo, for example?

Considering he was completely healthy for only like the last three games of the season, 63 catches for 711 yds and 3 TDs is pretty good!

Oline is our biggest need. Matthews, the guy from Auburn or that big nasty guard from Baylor (Outland Trophy finalist) all would fit in quite nicely. Look for 1-2 other linemen on FA, several are coming available. GO FALCONS!

@RangeRover

Raising questions on a proctored test! You people kill me. Ask anyone who has been around the how the league allows people to have access regarding test taking and they know you're spouting hooey.

So, as far as standardized testing goes as a barometer, what's the force of Deacon Jones hand slapping the side of your head equation?

If "coherent sentence" structure was a active job criteria for a wide receiver, Don Hutson and Wes Welker would have never played a down.

I see the change in format hasn't helped you one bit.

Oh you mean like a "pre-algrabraic question" instead of a "pre-algr(e)braic question?"

Only thing I have in common with White, Gore, or "Morris" Claibourne is that you spend time trying to declare "your mental and economic superiority" over us while proving otherwise.

@AlwaysReady

R U serious??  Clown complained when being double teamed in college..

If the Falcons draft Clown, he'll be a BUST here.. Too close to his homies..

If he's drafted 500+ miles from SC, he'll have a great 10 year career!

@JSSN Frank Gore is a Super Bowl Champion? A little premature, ya think?

Disagree, we need too much help to give up picks. We can get a quality player at the 6th pick wether its Clowney or Barr. Gotta get two OLineman in Free agency before the draft or we are drafting Mathews or an other OLineman.
