Aaron Murray hopes to be ready by UGA Pro Day

By D. Orlando Ledbetter

MOBILE, Ala. – Former Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray, who suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament against Kentucky on Nov. 23, is attending the Senior Bowl.

Here’s my story on how he’s trying to impress NFL teams on our subscription site, MYAJC.com.

He plans to be ready to workout at Georgia’s Pro on April 16. He’s been rehabbing in Pensacola, Fla. under famed doctor James Andrews.

"Hines Ward was most certainly our Quarterback for The University of Georgia and when Pittsburgh Steelers drafted him in 1998, he also was Quarterback for Pittsburgh throwing passes for Pittsburgh before settling in on a position which he also played at Georgia,"

Does Mike Bobo know you're rewriting Hines Ward Senior year history at UGA?

Do the Steelers know that you've changed his first season from the "Old Kordell Stewart Slash position" in the first year there?

You're as phony as a wooden nickel or security at Target card swipe station!@ Thomas

God i tried to read Thomas Brown history of great UGA/NFL players but it was just to long, with all those greats you would figure they would have more than 2 NC. Jake Scott was one of my favorites back in the day.

I did catch where ThomAss is running the old UGA has 6 NC ( 4 were apparently awarded by Farmers Almanac). UGA official website shows 2.

JSS(N) as for your Delaware college and their NFL Championship Game MVP excuse me, we have four (4) :

Hines Ward was most certainly our Quarterback for The University of Georgia and when Pittsburgh Steelers drafted him in 1998, he also was Quarterback for Pittsburgh throwing passes for Pittsburgh before settling in on a position which he also played at Georgia, Wide Receiver finishing with 2 Super Bowl Wins, Super Bowl XLIII and Super Bowl XL, and being named Super Bowl MVP.Hines Ward was born in South Korea and raised in East Point Georgia, then UGA, then NFL, then Dancing with the Stars and now ESPN.

As a matter of fact, The University of Georgia has the most players named Most Valuable Player of the NFL Championship Game.

Charley Trippi also was Quarterback for The University of Georgia and he, too, was Most Valuable Player of the NFL Championship Game.He too threw passes in the NFL.

NFL Championship Game was played from 1933 to 1966.Charley Trippi is the only player in the Pro Football Hall of Fame with 1000 yards of receiving, 1000 yards passing, and 1000 yards rushing. The Super Bowl has been played to determine Super Bowl MVP starting 1967, but the NFL damn sure had a championship 1947 and Charley Trippi, UGA, damn sure was Super Bowl MVP, too.Charley Trippi was born in Pennsylvania, played college for UGA, NFL, now lives in Athens.

Here is your URL Link to the challenged Delaware college fan, JSSN.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFL_Championship

All this time, JSS(N) you have stated that you are not a fan of college, then now state it’s Delaware college for Joe Flacco and Rich Gannon. This is the 1st time in all these years that you have stated your allegiance in college is with Delaware college.

Excuse me ?Rich Gannon never won no damn NFL Championship Game MVP award or titled Super Bowl MVP either.

Jake Scott III, a friend of mine here in Atlanta, was born in South Carolina, then UGA, then NFL, and he and I spend time together here in Atlanta where he is also very well off.A good guy.Jake Scott III was Super Bowl MVP 1973 and Won Super Bowl VII following the 1972 season and Super Bowl VIII with Miami Dolphins.Jake Scott III never threw a pass in the NFL that I remember; although he caught 49 NFL passes by NFL QBs when they were throwing to their receivers and he intercepted the 49 NFL passes.Jake Scott III is a fine man; I can tell you from personal experience over many years. And, watching him play football with our seasons’ ticket at The University of Georgia under Erk Russell was a dream. He does so much on the football field, but you want to talk about Super Bowl MVP Award winners from Delaware college and list 2, only one of which won the Super Bowl MVP or NFL Championship Game MVP.Jake Scott III by the way wore jersey number 13 for Miami Dolphins, a NFL quarterback’s number for this UGA Super Bowl MVP.

The last time The University of Georgia Head Coach had to replace his entire Defensive Staff was following the 1963 season, when Vince Dooley hired Erk Russell to be his Defensive Coordinator for 1964.Mark Richt is doing that again today. He has so far Jeremy Pruitt whom he hired to be his Defensive Coordinator for 2014.

50 years since we went such a Major Overhaul of our Defensive Coaching Staff here at Georgia.

But, according to you, we’re no good and Delaware college is, at football.

Terrell Davis from California, went to play college football for George Allen at Long Beach State and when he passed and they disbanded football, Terrell Davis transferred to UGA to back-up our Starting Tailback Garrison Hearst. When Garrison Hearst went to the NFL, Terrell Davis became our Starting Tailback, although he was injured vs vols an aggravated hamstring tear.He has a BS degree from UGA and we’re proud of him here at UGA where when he Won the Super Bowl MVP 1998 said he was from UGA, and also was Super Bowl Champion XXXII and XXXIII with Denver Broncos.TD lives in California and was never charged with any criminal wrongdoing in the Gold Club.

We’ve gone all of 7 years without a Super Bowl or NFL Championship Game MVP.

Fran Tarkenton never won an NFL Championship Game or Super Bowl MVP, yes.He is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Zeke Bratkowski most assuredly did win The NFL Championship Game as Quarterback Green Bay Packers and was super sub for Bart Starr.Zeke Bratkowski the all-time NCAA leading passer until 1961 and finished his NFL career with 10,345 yards many during Vince Lombardi’s Championship Era, not that you remember any of that.I do.He spot-started for Vince Lombardi, and in fact started 49 NFL games.

You are just wrong about UGA MVP NFL Championship Game and Super Bowl MVP.

Let’s get back to this Delaware college B.S.

Armanti Edwards was QB at Appalachian State college who beat Delaware in the NCAA Division 1 Football Championship Game, beating Delaware college QB Joe Flacco.

Joe Flacco has a 83.7 passer rating in the NFL and 1 Super Bowl Championship.1.

That’s 1 more than Rich Gannon has.

Joe Flacco completes only 60.2 percent of his NFL passes. This season, he threw 22 interceptions and only 19 TD passes.

They did not even make the friqin’ play-offs and you are in here talking about Super Bowl Championships. And, Delaware college’s Rich Gannon and Joe Flacco.

Rich Gannon does not compare to Fran Tarkenton.

Joe Flacco nor Rich Gannon are any Joe Montana, so don’t try to make them out as if they were/are.

Fran Tarkenton certainly is one of the top 15 or so NFL quarterbacks and ended his career with the most rushing yards for a NFL Quarterback. If you ever watched him on Fall Saturdays here with our seasons’ tickets or in the NFL, you knew that.342 TD passes he also ended his career with the most TD Passes for a NFL Quarterback.

With otherwise playoff success, and his superhuman achievements as a “dual threat” how could Fran Tarkenton not be one of the greatest?

All you haters let here your collage stats and your draft status when you were in collage. If you have no collage stats and never considered for the NFL you just an armchair QB with nothing to do but hate and talk about things you have no clue about.  He must chance some shot or you would not be talking about him. Talk to me when you’re on ESPN with your own Draft show.

I wonder if Murray will lose his twiddle butt gate with his newly repaired knee?

DoubleNaughtSpy

I seem to remember a 6th round draft choice named Tom Brady turned out to be a pretty good NFL QB.

Before you lunatics jump on that and say Murray is nothing like Brady, save your breath.  They are not the same.  However, Brady was drafted by a team that perfectly matched his abilities and playing style.  He's one of the most proficient QBs of all time, but do you think he would have had the same success had he been drafted by the Cleveland Browns?

POAD2013

Hope BOX SCORE MURRAY gets healthy enough to have a good showing at His Pro Day.

If the Falcons are lucky BOX SCORE will move up to be a 4th round pick and some stupid team ahead of the Falcons will WASTE a pick on Box Score and the Falcons find a Diamond in the ruff.

GeorgeJetsen
GeorgeJetsen

Murray has to hope someone picks him up late in the draft or that he'll win a spot on someone's practice roster.   Either way his prospects are far worse than what they'd have been this time last year if he'd entered the draft.  That said, I'm not convinced that Murray was ever going to be a successful NFL QB even if he had stayed healthy.

JSSN

University of Georgia produced QB Super Bowl record 0-3, no QB appearance since January 1977!

Shoot, the FCS Delaware has produced more Super Bowl winners (or participants) than vaunted Georgia or The Ohio State University! Get real, that is the difference between the fraud that is D-1 football and the Shield, the two greatest two winners in Super Bowl history show what truly matters (one went to the Duck Dynasty U and the other went to Praise Virgin Mary)! Dream on you jock sniffers! Even mighty Bama hasn't produced a SB "winner" in 37 years! It's the "Players" that matter, not the school!

6 the same as Georgie tek, although Georgie tek never has won the AP Poll National Championship.  UGA has NC in every poll Georgie tek has one in.  Jake Scott III is one of the best guys to be around nowadays.  Always enjoy being around him.

ThomasBrown
ThomasBrown

Rich Gannon is certainly not one of the top 15 NFL Quarterbacks of all-time and neither is Joe Flacco, both of Delaware college.

I would take Billy Kilmer over both Rich Gannon and Joe Flacco. What a gutsy NFL QB, but Jake Scott III took care of his MVP Super Bowl that one day.

Joe Flacco made it as a QB only because of Baltimore Ravens’ Defense. And, you want to talk about Joe Flacco.

And, Rich Gannon.

B.S.

Joe Flacco.

B.S.

Joe Flacco is not a dynamic quarterback, does not change games, and always is sacked 3 times a game his entire career.

Super Bowl ?Play-Offs ?Joe Flacco ?He did not even make the play-offs, none, no games because he sucked this season, and right after he sits down, you run in here JSS(N) and proclaim Joe Flacco’s greatness in the postseason.Excuse me, JSS(N) Joe Flacco threw 19 TD passes this season, 22 interceptions, a QB rating of 83, had eight (8) more Fumbles to give him 56 Fumbles in just 6 seasons now, his McDonald’s ads are an utter flop, was sacked 48 times this season, and for his career has rushed for 561 yards on 228 rushes.Joe Flacco has been sacked for 1,542 yards.

He sucks.

Baltimore Ravens needed a QB for their Championship Defense, and drafted Joe Flacco.

Now, that their defense is gone, Joe Flacco cannot even get them in a wild card play-off game.

Joe Flacco.

Ah, B.S. Joe Flacco.

Nice season there, Joe Flacco.

Delaware college.

He’s not a Quarterback.

8-8 for 2013 season, and Baltimore still has a better defense than they do offense.

Why ?

Because Joe Flacco is not a quarterback.

Sonny Jurgensen is a better QB than Joe Flacco.

Matthew Stafford in time might pass Joe Flacco the way he is playing.

671–435–46 (.602) Delaware college 1-AA FCS 6 NC by one poll or another all-time

Tek guy, hmmm, consider this:

"The two losses this season dropped the SEC's record in BCS bowl games to 17-10 (a final tally, given that the BCS era just ended). That's a .630 winning percentage, still the best BCS record among all the conferences. The only other leagues with winning records in BCS games are the Pac 12 (13-8, or a .620 winning percentage) and the Big East/American Conference (9-7, including Central Florida's win this season in the Fiesta Bowl). And the SEC won nine of the 16 national championships in the BCS era."

I don't think I saw the pathetic big tin conference listed.  why is that?

"Ohio State addressed the NCAA’s specific allegations and highlighted steps the university already has taken, including:

• Suspending five players for the first five games of next season;

• Accepting head football coach Jim Tressel’s resignation;

• Vacating the football program’s wins in the 2010 season, including its Sugar Bowl victory in January 2011;

• Self-imposing a two-year NCAA probation"

I'm going to make this quick. This was never about the "MVP of the NFL/AFL championship game or Super Bowl." It was about whether or not "certain" colleges or universities had produced "quarterbacks" who 1. "won" a Super Bowl as a "starting QB, or as 2."participated" as a "starting QB" in the S-U-P-E-R B-O-W-L (I spelled it out for honor graduate mind)!

I'm not even going to get into your idiot comment on Kilmer and Gannon. I'll give this to Old Fat Billy, he can piggyback on Aikman's 3 Super Bowl victories in the UCLA produced ledger! You're a hoot (in a very sick and demented way)!

3rd round going to look like #1 draft pick when compared to where Murray actually goes. His lack of big game success coupled with his injury almost guarantees no team will risk drafting him. Where that leaves him is entering camps and tryouts in an effort to just make a team's practice squad. Unless I'm way off, his future paycheck will not be from the NFL.

But being defended by you is the kiss of death! And when you find where I (JSSN) typed a single line about "Super Bowl" MVPs relating to "winning QBs" post it! UGA has only produced "one" "starting" "QB" "participant" in the history of Super Bowl "starting quarterbacking:" Fran Tarkenton (a three-time loser)! Meanwhile, to reiterate, since this simple "supposition" seems to befuddle you two. Tarkenton = one person < (that is a less than symbol) Flacco + Gannon - two people! It might be time to return old pure a** mode, I give some of you way too much credit for intelligence to read through threads?

JSSN

@Pinball-Wizard

Did they teach the concept of "supposition" at all of those schools you attended?

The issue was "quarterbacks." It was referred in the previous paragraph. Thus, even with Rich Gannon (losing QB in Super Bowl 37) and last year's victory by Baltimore led Delaware grad Joe Flacco; the Blue Hens still have produced more SUper Bowl winning QBs (and participants) than the University of Georgia football program. Sorry you couldn't follow along!
