@JSSN.. Time will tell if the Bucs have righted their ship. I do like Lovie Smith, I think he is a tremendous coach. We only have one decent LB in Spoon, but he is injury prone. Akeem Dent can't cover you or I.  It will be interesting to see if the Falcons Draft a LB that can cover/rush the passer. I've heard that Mack and Barr are good, but I haven't seen them play. I was hoping the falcons would sign Steve Smith. I love his tenacity and fire to compete. Go Falcons!

@JSSN... I couldn't agree with you more. The NFL has been very active in teaching the safety of the game. I do disagree with you about the future of football. Football is the number#1 sport in America and it will never go away. What do you think about the moves the Falcons have made in free agency? I like the NT from Miami and the guard from KC. However, I don't like the Tyson Jackson signing, but maybe a change of scenery will help him. I wouldn't mind seeing Jared Allen come here for the right price. I'm not sure what he wants as far as money is concerned. It will be interesting to see if Nolan changes to a full time 3-4 or a combination. I can't wait to see the draft. Go Falcons!

I hope this is a meaningful clinic, and not just a PR move on behave of the league.

This has Roger Goddell's finger prints all over it. Football is a violent sport with many collisions but then again so is soccer.

Mack is the real deal! I've seen him in-person twice. Think Greg Lloyd with self-control. I saw Barr play running back in HS. He's like Kearse (freakish talent), but Nolan's scheme will stunt his talents for a time as he adjusts to its complexities. Bartu and Worrilow have the opportunity to be more than serviceable if the Falcons don't overwhelm them trying to cover the shortcomings of other players. I don't count on Weatherspoon for anything other knowing the scheme. Which is useless if he is hurt.

Being the #1 sports in the US can change in a heartbeat (ask Major League Baseball). You can't take for granted position of participation (especially when the demographics are changing break neck in areas where football has not been challenged since the early 70s. Let about 10 or 20 struggling school systems get hit with class action litigation. Poof!

As I've been saying, these are 1st steps. People are pissing around trolling the Saints. Meanwhile, Tampa Bay has righted their house.

Nolan can't run the 3-4 all the time, you've got to have more than 3 dynamic LBs to pull it off (and at least 6 in depth). Jackson is strictly to sure up that run defense. Nolan sees what's coming in the NFC, I don't envy the task.

Almost as "Classy" as you using a public service event to rant on about blog proofing. There's a reason you keep running head first into brick wall.

Seriously, I despise Roger Goodell. Nevertheless, you need to stop acting like this is some clandestine venture. Between Heads Up and USA Football, the NFL has been vocal in saying what they are doing in terms of youth and secondary school football programs. They know the future of their game is at risk. The numbers of participation are down across the board. They can easily become baseball, TV or no TV money. Simple as that, they have to address it.
