Las Vegas doesn’t like Falcons’ free agency moves

By D. Orlando Ledbetter

The Falcons odds to win the 2015 Super Bowl XLIX increased from 25-to-1 to 33-to-1 with some of their moves in free agency, according to bovada.lv.

The Falcons elected to go with sound football moves along the offensive and defensive lines in free agency and are visiting with returner Devin Hester today in Flowery Branch.

“Unless a quarterback or star running back moves teams, it is pretty rare that one player in the NFL will have a big impact on Super Bowl odds, but we have seen some slight movement since free agency began,” said Kevin Bradley, Sports Book Manager of Bovada.lv in a statement. “The Green Bay Packers have seen some money over the last week, getting (Julius) Peppers no doubt contributed to that, and have gone from 16-1 to 10-1.

“Meanwhile the Denver Broncos who have bolstered up their defense a touch have also dropped from 8-1 to 7-1, but are not seeing any backing by our bettors. The Eagles would be the other team that has moved from 25-1 to 18-1 as a result of them being pretty active in the market through keeping their own free agents, trades, and free agent signings.”

Odds to win the 2015 Super Bowl XLIX:

Falcons aren't going anywhere with that sorry o-line.

I like that they addressed the defense, but it's very rare for a rookie offensive lineman to step in and start in the NFL. Top left tackles do help sometimes, but other than that... not much.

The "toys" can't get the ball if Matt Ryan is getting rid of the ball on a 3 step drop every pass attempt.

This is why last year was terrible.

Maybe because they over paid for Tyson Jackson but Falcons will be a lot better than last year. Glad to see Falcons going after better players through Free Agents. Looking forward to draft....Go Falcons!

Team- party -meber  ---or Joe Tess--He is against  Braves, Falcons, and  Hawks..... A joke

Aw c'mon now,  there's a better chance that Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 will land at Hartsfield-Jackson, than the falcan'ts garning a berth to Super Bowl XLIX.

GEAUX SAINTS!!!!

Just like doing a mock draft before the NFL combine, listening and reading about the Super Bowl odds Vegas comes up with before the draft mean absolutely nothing.

Like I said before, these odds will improve after the draft. 10th place isn't bad after a 4&12 season. Vegas odds makers must believe in us like I do... Rise Up...

Who cares. Vegas doesn't get on the field. Just because they weren't big flashy names like DeMarcus Ware, Jared Allen, Darrelle Revis, etc. doesn't mean they won't have a significant impact on the team. I think the plug in of Jon Asamoah at RG is going to be better than we think and Tyson Jackson and Paul Soliai on the same line together will do damage to opposing O-lines who try their best to run the ball on us. Before now, we didn't have big guys to eat up O-lines. We have that now and we're not finished. That's the good thing about it.

And apparently Dimitroff and staff are ready to bring some explosiveness to our return game. Either that, or they don't want to risk Jacquizz Rodgers to injury on kick returns seeing that we only have 4 backs on the roster and only 3 are active on gamedays (Jackson, Rodgers, Smith) and who knows if Jackson will stay healthy over the course of an entire season. So bringing in another guy makes sense. Especially Devin Hester. Gotta sign that guy.

@SeenThatB4  ..........................actually DLed is piloting that plane and headed for Kenner.  I don't anticipate the Falcons garning anything but they very well could go to the Super Bowl.   By the way, what the heck is a garning anyway?

WE ARE THE MIGHTY MIGHTY FALCONS!!

"Who cares. Vegas doesn't get on the field."

Dman Feb 4, 2014 (from 'Las Vegas expects Falcons to rebound, be in Super Bowl XLIX hunt')

"It's clear that Vegas understands why we were 4&12 last season. INJURIES PEOPLE. We still have a great team when healthy. The Falcons lost Julio. Then add Roddy White, Stephen Jackson, Bradie Ewing, Sam Baker, Mike Johnson and that's just the Offensive Starters. Add Kroy Biermann, Corey Peters, Sean Weatherspoon, Jonathan Babineaux, Asante Samual on Defense and those are just the starters. That is exactly Half of our Starters that missed a large majority of the season or all of the season. The ones who came back played injured and should have stayed out. Could Seattle have won the Super Bowl if half of their starters didn't play this season? Answer NO...

Falcons will be back stronger than ever after free agency and a strong draft. Vegas knows this and I believe it too. Expect the odds to improve after the draft. RISE UP"

Com'on, you know that it matters what the outside world thinks of the Falcons regardless of that false bravado that is shown on these blogs. When Las Vegas (remember the 02/04/2014 articles on odds?) starts to turn a sour eye to the excuses of the injuries and as far as the team's approach to deficiencies at hand. Don't cry about it, see what comes next.

No big deal, we only dropped 3 spots from number 7 to number 10. After seeing all of your negativeness on these blogs, youd think we would come in at number 32. After we pick up two quality players in the draft with number 6 and 36 overall, we will probably climb back higher again. Like I said before, I believe we are on the right track for a great 2014 Season. RISE UP JSSN...

@Tea-Party-Meber Man, I hope I am the FIST one in line for those concert tickets!  I wonder how much works this guys put into maintaining this charade of a character on these blogs.  I have two special needs members of my family and it irks me to a high level when I cross paths with this guy to be playing with it as such.

"Rise Up" didn't work for the Hawks (they used it first), and the Falcons aren't original enough to try something new!

You don't have to "Rise Up" when you're not "knocked down" in the first place!

I didn't know that. Now the hawks are a team I gave up on years ago. I used to go to 20 or more games a year back when Domonique and the gang played. Fun times before this current ownership took over. What a joke allthough I am holding out hope for a better future. Anyway Rise back up JSSN...
