Louisville’s Preston Brown to work out for Falcons

By D. Orlando Ledbetter

Former Louisville middle linebacker Preston Brown, who led the Cardinals in tackles last season, is set to workout for the Falcons on Wednesday in Louisville.

Also, Marcus Smith, Louisville defensive end/linebacker, told reporters that he’s set to work out of the Falcons, too.

Brown, 6-foot-2, 260 pounds, led the Cardinals with 98 tackles (71 solos, 27 assists). He had 12.5 tackles for losses, 4.5 sacks, seven quarterback hits, two fumble recoveries and three forced fumbles.

He returned a fumble 48 yards for a touchdown against Memphis on Nov. 23.

Brown, who was a four-year starter for the Cardinals, played outside linebacker as a freshman and sophomore.

Anybody else notice how often Kahlil Mack takes bad angles and has to reach out and arm tackle ? This would be a red flag if I was Smith or Dimitroff.

Falcons Easy Button 3.0 - post-Combine

6. Greg Robinson, OL, Auburn...if not, trade down for Lewan/Barr...

38. Stephon Tuitt, DE, Notre Dame - uber-talented, playmaker on edge

70. Austin Serefin-Jenkins, TE, UW - tall, NW hands guy

102. Brandon Thomas, OG, Clemson - big, strong Clowney stopper

134. Seantrell Henderson, OT, Miami - prototype #1 recruit USA

135. Keith McGill, S/CB, Utah - Tall, long, fast w range, ball skills

166. Joseph Thomas, ILB, SC State - MEAC DPOY

198. Dexter Moody, S, UGA/Albany St. - SIAC DPOY

223. Shontez Nelson, DL, St. Aug.'s - DII AA, see Robert Mathis

227. AC Leonard, TE, Tenn. St. - NFL Combine Top Performer

233. Thomas Wolfe III, CB, FVSU - tall, fast, prototype, #2 DII in Int.'s

Analysis: based on 1-5 draft prediction:

1. Clowney

2. Robinson

3. Mack

4. Matthews

5. Watkins

6. Too high for Lewan/Barr...move down

Manziel, Bartles, Bridgewater fall out Top Ten, perhaps 1st rd.

Just another potential falcan't for Drew Brees and Sean Payton to chew up and spit out....

I think we will see a draft heavy with linebackers picks coming from the Falcons.

@WolfWithanE  I would love for Moses to be available at the top of the second round, depending of course, on whether there is a run on offensive linemen. I been called that Terrence Brooks pick a week ago, but in the 4th. I think he will still be there.

@SeenThatB4 the way the offseason going for the aints  and falcons. look like 49ers will get thre 6th this season    go 49ers

Since we only have 4, you're probably right starting with the first pick at 6.

I'm not at all worried Ronnie, it may appear that way to you, but rest assured, it only "APPEARS" that way.
