Attaochu, Thomas shine at Georgia Tech’s Pro Day

By D. Orlando Ledbetter

Georgia Tech standout Jeremiah Attachou went through the linebacker and defensive linemen drills at the school’s Pro Day on Friday.

He suffered a torn right hamstring in the third quarter of the Senior Bowl and was not able to perform for NFL teams at the NFL scouting combine.

Here’s a photo gallery from the day’s events.

“I think I did great,” Attaochu said. “I think I surprised myself a little bit. I had an injury. I rehabbed the injury and I was still able to run (the 40-yard dash) pretty good. I was in the 4.5s everywhere.”

Also, defensive back Jemea Thomas had a strong workout. I had him clocked at 4:38 on the phone stop watch.

Falcons seldom draft Tech or UGA players. Dumb on their part!

Attaochu ran sub 4.6?  Wow.  That would have been #2 or #3 for OLB's at the Indy combines

As a Tech fan and Falcons fan, I wish the Falcons would take a late-round flyer on Attaochu.  I'm not exactly sure what his draft stock currently is, but he's certainly worth a 4th rounder considering his athleticism, work ethic, and versatility (played OLB and DE in college and excelled at both).  Add to these the fact that we need as many talented pass-rushers as possible and I see no reason the Falcons would pass on Attaochu.

Thomas is also a guy that I think could be a pleasant surprise for a team that takes him late.  He has great ball skills.  I don't think he'll ever be a shut down corner, but I think he could be a great nickel back (which is increasingly more important in today's NFL) for the right team.

All homerism aside, I'd love to see both guys in a Falcons uniform.

One of if not both would look good in the ATL uniform!

@JacketMan  Is it the indoor facility that is known for slow times or do you think its the players running the 40s that are known for slow times?

Tess.......Johnny Screwball made Bill O'Brien's decision tougher.

No way I'd put my Job in the hands of Bortles over JF.

The indoor facility is known to run slow for everyone, it's because of the turf. I'm not sure if you saw the actual pro day or not, but there was a ton of guys slipping during the drills because of the turf, which is also part of the reason the guys can't get as much good traction on their 40 times.

@JacketMan  Just to be clear I am through and through a dog fan, but Attachou is a beast and I really hope the Falcons can pick him up.  He is legit and better than any of the Bulldog LBs!!
