The Falcons sent a deep contingent, including general manager Thomas Dimitroff, to Maryland to check out Towson State running back Terrance West and cornerback Jordan Love on Sunday.

In 2013, West scored at least one touchdown in all 16 games for the Tigers. He also ran for more than 100 yards 12 times and had four 200-plus-yard games.

West, who is 5-foot-9, 225 pounds, is the seventh rated running back by NFLDraftScout.com. He’s projected to be selected in the third round.

Love is a former Georgia transfer, who’s the 55th rated cornerback and is not projected to be drafted.

West rushed for a FCS record 2,509 rushing yards last season. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.54 seconds at the NFL combine. He also had 16 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press. He had a vertical jump of 33 ½ inches and 10 foot broad jump.

Something stinks in Denmark! Oh yeah, it's Thomas (Boy Genius) Dimitroff. 'Lookin' for love in all the wrong places again - just like the song!

David Sims is better than this guy.  Also much bigger.

Josh Vaughn is better than this guy.

Well, GSU93:  GSU91 here, and I say it is because you find hard working, appreciative, well adjusted players who will put forth decent effort, at the small schools.  They've learned their lessons well and are not so self-centered as to think they are prima donnas that can singlehandedly safe the world.

Why does TD always get fixated on guys from small schools from all parts of he country? He refuses to focus on the talent that lies right n their backyard.  It's called the SEC!  Who did this guy put those numbers up against? The Maryland School of Cosmetology?

D Led,

We saw some elite play from Josh Vaughan during the preseason last year, is there a possibility he may get some playing time during the regular season this year?

Stay far far away TD. Far far away. You have made too many bad personnel decisions to gamble on this guy. I think he will be a productive player in the league but the Falcons need less gambles at this point. If the Falcons draft West and either Tre Mason or Jeremy Hill are still on the board, they will officially cross the stupididity line.

The Falcons need to draft a running back with a home run propensity. We all know that speed kills, we haven't seen that since Jerious Norwood.

Terrance West also had 41 rushing touchdowns for 13-3 Towson last season.

If you want a small school RB with big school skills it's Jerrick McKinnon from Ga Southern. The guy had off-the-charts measurables on and off the field.
