Now, the Falcons have reached deals with 8 of their 9 draft picks.

They agreed to terms with running back Devonta Freeman on Thursday, a day after closing deals with first-rounder Jake Matthews and second-rounder Ra’Shede Hageman.

Freeman, 5-8, 206 pounds, was selected by the Falcons in the fourth round (103rd overall) in the NFL draft. Last season’s 103rd pick, linebacker Alex Okafor signed a four-year $2.634 million deal with Arizona, which included a $474,428 signing bonus.

He became the first Florida State running back since Warrick Dunn to rush for over 1,000 yards when he logged 1,016 yards on 173 carries in 2013.

On Sunday, five Falcons’ draft picks, linebacker Prince Shembo, cornerback Ricardo Allen, linebacker Marquis Spruill, linebacker Yawin Smallwood, and linebacker Tyler Starr, all signed four-year contracts.

Third-round safety Dezmen Southward is the lone unsigned draft pick.

Just average 4.1 yards like the amazing Warrick Dunn.

you have to have a good offensive line , to run the ball, especially when yr qb  is a average qb  , so  the falcons  willl have a  top 5 pick in 2015  have a nice day . YOUR  WELCOME !

I like Freeman's focus and his hunger coming out of liberty city. I think he'll be a vital part of the Falcons offense...

I think this dude is legit.......I sure as hell hope so!!

Ice hasn't had a quality RB to hand the ball to since '08-'10 Burner. :(

That needs to change Pronto.

I simply do not envision S-Jax getting the job done.

The Southward pick was a mistake to begin with. NO got a better S two rounds later in Vin Sunseri.

Shouldn't Southward be the first guy to sign as he was picked higher than anyone thought he'd be picked.  Shouldn't he be grateful to get a 3rd round pick salary?

Can you imagine how life may have turned out had you sufficient oxygen at birth?

You like VS a lot! How's his rehab coming along? You know I don't trust that Bama training staff much. But I always put my antenna up when you get a bone in your mouth!

@ftputt  Actually if he would of been able to compete in the combine with his numbers in the pro-day he would have been picked higher. This guy if he stays healthy might turn out to be a steal.

@ftputt

What does gratefulness have to do with any of this? This is all business! He's slotted (money wise), let the agents and the Falcons chief negotiator get it done. They've got to decide if they are front loading or backloading the bonuses. Those are your future cap implications.
