FLOWERY BRANCH – The Falcons held their final practice of minicamp on Thursday morning.

The official training camp schedule will be announced today or Friday, but we know the rookies report on July 22 with the first practice set for July 23.

Check back later for blogs, videos and stories from today’s events.

Matt Ryan is set to speak after practice and the Falcons have a presser set up with owner Arthur Blank, HBO’s president Ken Hershman and NFL Films supervising producer Ken Rodgers.

For now, here are 10 quick observations from the practice:

  1. Falcons safety William Moore was back at practice. He missed Wednesday’s practices for personal reasons.
  2. Wide receiver Julio Jones (right foot) was running at full speed while working out with the trainers. He was running sprints with safety Zeke Motta (neck) and defensive tackle Corey Peters (Achilles tendon). He was about 15 yards ahead of Motta and 30 ahead of Peters.
  3. The Falcons spent part of the practice working on the pass-rush attack. The front featured all defensive ends in sort of a NASCAR package. Jonathan Massaquoi, Mallician Goodman, Jonathan Babineaux and Osi Umenyiora were used.
  4. The Falcons also went through a rugged short-yardage period.
  5. Several members of Auburn’s football staff were on hand to watch the practice.
  6. Wide receiver Dominique Croom was not at practice.
  7. Newly acquired linebacker Tim Dobbins and quarterback T.J. Yates were traveling in route and missed the practice. They were set to undergo physicals.
  8. Cornerback Desmond Trufant was held out of most of the practice. Robert McClain took over at right cornerback.
  9. Big boys Paul Soliai and Tyson Jackson had most of the practice off.
  10. After one period, Umenyiora and Jackson had to up-downs for an unknown violation of the rules as set forth by defensive line coach Bryan Cox.

SCHEDULE

June 22 through 28 – Rookie Symposium, Aurora, Ohio.

July 22  – Rookies report to training camp.

July 23 — First practice of training camp.

PRACTICES WITH TEXANS — Wednesday, August 13 and Thursday, August 14.
