Houston Texans safety D.J. Swearinger participated in the 5 Star Athlete Management’s football camp hosted by Atlanta-based Super-Agent Todd France and several sponsors on Wednesday at Mount Vernon Presbyterian School.

The former South Carolina product is coming of a strong rookie campaign.

Here are five questions with Swearinger:

Q: What are you expecting from the practices against the Falcons in training camp?

A: It will be great with the Falcons coming down to Houston. We should have a lot of competition, so it should be great for both teams.

Q: How did you feel your rookie season went in 2013 after starting 10 out of 16 games?

A: It went great for me. I’m glad I got the chance to get 10 starts under my belt.

Q: What could you tell the Falcons fans about quarterbackT.J. Yates after facing him in practice?

A: T.J. Yates is a great player. He’s going to come in and compete. He’s going to work his butt off. He’s a really good player.

Q: What are your impressions of the new Houston coach Bill O’Brien?

A: He’s a great coach. He’s trying to get us right and make sure that everybody puts the team first. If we put the team first, we’ll get on the right track.

Q: Do the Texans have a formula to rebound in 2014?

A: We have to put the team first and work our butts off.
