Rookie RB Devonta Freeman back at practice

Falcons rookie running back Devonta Freeman left the field with an undisclosed injury on Monday. He was back at practice on Tuesday.

“Davonta is fine,” Falcons coach Mike Smith said after practice. “Devonta was just dehydrated from practice and we wanted to be very precautionary, take him off the field. We got him rehydrated and he’s ready to go.”

Freeman, a fourth-round draft pick, accounted for 107 total yards on 11 touches in the exhibition opener against Miami. He rushed for 50 yards on 10 carries and caught a pass for 57 yards.

The Falcons are already hurting at the running back position. Steven Jackson, who’s listed No. 1 on the depth chart, has been out with a left hamstring injury. He’s started light workouts with the trainers.

U guys forget the reason why the Falcons went 13-3 in 2013..because u had the Easiest schedule in the league and that isn't up for debate. Even then, there were plenty of close games against under .500 teams that the Falcons almost blew. I expect the Falcons to win more than 4 games this year because..4 games is awful. But they won't be a SB contender. Its a team of rookies that have at least another 2 yrs in the making. There's still some holes in the Falcons D and they're nowhere near the level of the 49ers or Hawks alone. Packers, Broncos and Saints all are better

The Saints are going to be utterly devastated like Katrina on opening day by the Falcons

The division better watch out this year because the Falcons offense IS BACK!  Hard to score when your 2 top receivers are out or injured all year and there is no blocking for the QB on TOP of that.  Then throw in there was ZERO running game and you get 2013.  2014 the Falcons ARE back to where they were in 2012.  One play away from the Superbowl.   Whether you like it or not or believe it or not.  They ARE BACK.

Was an easy fix.  Get back Jones & White healthy and improve the OL to give Matt an extra couple seconds AND open up some holes for the backs.  I hear Baker is looking amazing compared to his past.  WORST decision TD made was gutting the OL after the 2012 season.  Throw in Jones and White injuries and well, we seen the result.  BUT THE FALCONS OFFENSE IS BACK IN 2014.

Falcons better start looking for some help at RB. I like Freeman and Quizz  and A. Smith. But Stephen Jackson will not play this year. I think he's done. His time is better spent on his art career and his hair. He came to the Falcons to be a rah-rah guy. Unfortunately, I think his career is over.

@ ftputt...  Naw....  he should keep the muscle...  he needs to stop trying to run like Barry Sanders and run more like Earl Campbell.

I know a lot of the Falcons Fans are calling for Smith to be our featured RB, but I think the Falcons should and will go with a platoon approach.  Each of these cats bring something to the table.  Even hamstring Jackson.  Hamstring might not be what he was, but he is still a big physical back who could be an asset in a short yardage situation.

Jackson works out too much.  His muscles are too tight and that's why he keeps getting hurt.  Lose some muscle, stay healthy.

I don't know what u guys saw in that pre-game..and as much as we don't make anything out of pre-games, the o-line wasn't amazing. Not to mention u guys won by scoring 3 FG's. So much for offense against an awful defensive Dolphins team. The Falcons win games by FG's. They need more than that if they wanna finish 1st in the division.. If u dont remember, the FG is what saved u from advancing in the game against the Seahawks in 2013..and that's when your offense was completely healthy and Ryan wasn't getting sacked every possession

@Flacons_go_2-14 It is hard to read your posts. Didn't you ever take an English class in school? Grammar please! Are you doing that intentionally?

@Flacons_go_2-14 If you think the Falcons really will go 2-14, your comments are proven to be lacking of any merit simply based on your devastatingly incorrect win/loss prediction.  Anyone with a brain who is not even a football watcher can tell already the Falcons offense is going to be light years better than last year that zero no run or pass blocking and zero run game.  There will be a run game this year with or without Jackson.  BTW Jackson WILL be on the filed this year too.  And with some blocking.  Julio Jones will be back.  The offense will be one of the best in the league again.  The defense will be hungrier with more experience at a few positions.  Falcoms will be in the playoff hunt late in the season...which means many more than 2 wins.  So that being said are you an idiot or simply a hater?  A Saints fan maybe?

@Columbus68 @Flacons_go_2-14 Not much of a sense of humor, man. This is a trolling account and the spelling and grammatical errors are planned. Gullible. In other news, there is no tooth fairy.
