I think Starr will do just fine. I noticed the majority of plays were run away from him

So Michael Sam is available... co MVP in the SEC... let's see if the brain trust of Dumbetroff and Smithless pick him up and cut Tyler Starr .... or if they stand by their man from South Dakota...

3 QB's?  bad choice

Roby & Weems? I guess we like retreads..  neither will have 25 catches or 500 yards

Toilolo - obviously staying - but watch how many blocks he misses

Biermann.. no clue - he must have pictures of one of the coaches in an awkward situation - over/uner is 1.5 sacks for 2014

Maponga - bet we don't hear his name on any call

Hageman - someone needs to wake this kid up (Cox is doing his best - looks like Mike Smith is leaving Bryan out to dry - thinking he will be able to point the finger)

LB corps - just a sad state of affairs..... bad drafting, bad coaching (Mark - boot licking" Collins needs to go back to college

Hard Knocks taught us a lot about the management and coaching...

Projection - 6 or 7 wins....

Tyler Starr made the team? wonder how that happened,,,  he missed tackle after tackle... ,maybe it was the boot licking LB coach Collins who thinks Beergirl walks on water who didn't know how to channel Jaques Smith's energy...  while Mike Smith stand by and talks in cliches...  more evidence that the house made of cards is about to fall

I don't see us being as bad as some here do.  I especially like the energy and speed on defense.  We actually look like we may get some pressure on QBs, and we'll surely be better stopping the run.  I admit the LBs are a question.  We also have a better running game this year, and Hester adds something to a good receiving corps. But I don't understand TD's unwillingness to properly address the O-line.  RG is unsettled, with Konz not giving much reason for optimism, and unless Hawley, and Holmes have magically transformed themselves, I fear we will still be weak there.  That's a really big deal, because Ryan needs time.  Hope I'm wrong, and that those guys have gotten stronger.  Guess we'll find out a week from tomorrow, as NO is stout up front on defense.

Looks like the Falcons season will be over before it gets started according to some on these comments.

How long will AB wait to address roster problems if the falcons get off to a bad start? Bierman, KOnz and a third quarterback on the roster are questionable moves.  If the falcons blow 2 0f the first 3 games then you can kiss this season goodbye.

I think Thomas Dimitroff is more enamored with what a player looks like rather whether or not he can actually play. I am sick of this franchise and the favoritism they show towards some of these weak asss players.

WOW! I What happened to real competition no matter your previous status? I saw absolutely nothing from C/G KONZ to justify him making the team. I saw nothing in the two practices I was able to observe and even less in the pre season games. So basically this year will be the same as last year. So how can the players be tuff when the staff can’t even make the tuff calls in the office? I really thought this year would be different, guess not.

If TD doesnt pick up Sam he has one less than his pal Lance the cheat.

The Cornerbacks are going to get us killed. These guys scare me, Desmond Trufant, Robert Alford, Josh Wilson, Javier Arenas and Robert McClain.Oh well, its a case of closing your eyes when quarterbacks like Breeze, Manning, Brady and Rodgers go deep.

oh yeah..Sam aint better than Tyler Starr?? Really??

ok now time to pick up Michael Sam and Champ Bailey...Kroy Beergirl is a joke and all NFL QBs are chuckling at him...

Until this team cuts the dead weight like Konz and Biermann, we will never win anything. These guys suck. And what has Starr done to earn a spot? When Drew Bree's picks our asss apart because of the lack of pass rush, don't be surprised. We cut Abe but kept this trash!! WTH???

Peter Konz still around???...

Can't win like that,,,

Bad mojo to start season,,,

Starr and Bierman.....I did not see much from either one of them.

Let's hope that we can sign Sam.   He would be a terrific ST player, as well as an additional pass rusher.

@crd617 It's not a matter of standing by their man.  Starr belongs on the Pracitce Squad because he needs a lot of development.

Sam is ready to excel at ST's and he is already a better pass rusher than Starr (and Bierman).

@crd617 We were terrible in Special Teams.  The additions of Weems and Roby were based on the dire need to improve those units.

@Bird of Prey Konz knows the line calls better than Stone.  Konz stays for another year, then is released.

Sam is no better than Bierman, bad choice. OT Eric Winston should be considered since being released by the Seahawks.

@midtowncowboy @crd617  You're either about 10 years old or just ignorant.

etherdome

@OriginalATLien I don't think that you have been watching.  Sam has been playing very well.  Sam would be an upgrade from Starr.  And, in short time, I believe that he will out-play Bierman.

etherdome
etherdome

@midtowncowboy @etherdome @crd617 The Rams' head coach made a point to mention that Sam's performance on ST's was very good.  Sam performed well in all four phases of ST's.

Couple Sam's ST performances with his three pre-seaon sacks, and you have a viable alternative to the talented but undeveloped Starr.

If we don't sign Sam, it will only be due to his relative lack of versatility.  Sam is strictly a pass rusher.  He would not be much use dropping into coverage.

etherdome

@midtowncowboy @etherdome @OriginalATLien The roster competition was between Sam and Westbrook.  Westbrook is more versatile, so he won.

Who cares about his sexual preferences?  The guy is a mature rookie with the talent to help our team.  Does anything else matter?

@etherdome @midtowncowboy @OriginalATLien  Midtowncowboy is obsessed with Sam.  Why else would he post the his fantasies?

Why do we need an undersized defensive lineman?   The guy was not good enough to make a team that is worst than the Falcons.   The only reason you know his name is because of his sexual preference.
