FLOWERY BRANCH — Here are five things  to know about the Falcons’ exhibition season schedule, which was released on Thursday:

1. Dress rehearsal. The important dress rehearsal (third) game will be played against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday, Aug. 25. The game will be nationally-televised.

2. Reunion. Falcons defensive linemen Derrick Shelby will face his former teammates in that third exhibition game.

3. Reunion 2. Falcons center Alex Mack will also face his former teammate when they play at Cleveland in the second exhibition game. The date will be determined.

4. Last Georgia Dome Opener. The final season in the Georgia Dome will kickoff against Washington. The date will be determined later. This will be the 16th exhibition matchup between these two franchises – dating back to 1968. The Falcons lead the series 9-6.

5. Old pals Jacksonville.  This will be the sixth time in the last seven years and the 12th time overall that the Falcons have played the Jaguars in the exhibition season. Atlanta won the last matchup in 2014, 24-14, but Jacksonville owns a 7-4 advantage in the all-time exhibition game series.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s D. Orlando Ledbetter joins CineSport’s Noah Coslov to identify the players that the Falcons may reach for in the draft.
