Freeney to meet with the Falcons

FLOWERY BRANCH — Dwight Freeney said he’s to meet with the Atlanta Falcons next week and the team has confirmed the visit.

The Falcons only had 19 sacks last season, which was last in the league.

Freeney, a seven-time Pro Bowler, wants to keep playing.

He’s 36 and played in 11 games and had eight sacks last season for Arizona. He has 119.5 career sacks.

ESPN’s Jim Trotter reports that Freeney told him he will visit the Falcons next week after spending time with the Cincinnati Bengals on Wednesday.

The Falcons have confirmed that Freeney will visit.
