5 quick takes from Falcons’ Sunday practice

FLOWERY BRANCH — Here are five quick takes from Sunday’s practice.

The Falcons (2-1) are set to face the Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2) at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Georgia Dome. The Jaguars play Cincinnati at 8 p.m. tonight on NBC.

1. Goldson signed. The Falcons signed former All-Pro safety Dashon Goldson. He wore jersey No. 38 in practice.

2. Practice returnees. Strong safety Kemal Ishmael (shoulder) returned to practice. He was limited. Damian Parms worked with the first team defense at strong safety. Kicker Matt Bryant (tightness) returned to practice.

3. Did not practice. Wide receiver Julio Jones (ankle), defensive end Adrian Clayborn (shoulder), defensive end Dwight Freeney (back), running back Brandon Wilds (knee), wide receiver Devin Fuller (shoulder) and safety Keanu Neal (knee) did not practice on Sunday.

4. Washington moved to cornerback. Wide receiver Corey Washington, who’s 6-foot-4 and 214 pounds, worked out with the cornerbacks. The Falcons want to see if Washington, a product of Newberry, can make the switch.

5. Capi injured in practice. Defensive end Nordly Capi left the field with a trainer with an undetermined injury.
