FLOWERY BRANCH — Falcons coach Dan Quinn was announced as the team’s nominee for the “Salute to Service Award presented by USAA.”
The award, presented annually by USAA and the NFL, honors a league member who demonstrates an exemplary commitment to honoring and supporting the military community.
USAA is the Official Military Appreciation Sponsor of the NFL.

WHAT: Nominated for the sixth annual “Salute to Service Award presented by USAA”
WHEN: Finalists for the award are announced in January. The recipient will be recognized at the “6th Annual NFL Honors” awards show in Houston on FOX on Saturday, Feb. 4, the night before the Super Bowl.
WHY: Dan was nominated by the Falcons because of his dedication to providing military members and families with experiences they will cherish for a life time. He’s hosted a number of events that include a Military Appreciation visit at Fort Gordon and a fishing tournament with Wounded Warriors, coaches and players. This past year, Dan also hosted the first ever Atlanta Falcons Military Day at Training Camp, giving military servicemen a once in a lifetime experience. Additionally, in his ongoing efforts, Coach Quinn also hosts 20 military members to each home game.
