FLOWERY BRANCH — The Atlanta Falcons (10-5) are set to host the New Orleans Saints (7-8) at 4:25 p.m. on Sunday in the last regular-season game in the history of the Georgia Dome.

Here are five things to know about the Falcons, the 2016 NFC South Champions, on Tuesday:

1. Experts whiffed on Falcons. Before this season started, 20 contributors to NFL.com voted on division winners. All 20 chose the Carolina Panthers in the NFL South. One, Charley Casserly, a former GM, mused that Tampa Bay was just a year away. The Panthers were seven-for-seven among the staff of CBSsports.com to win the South. Five had the Falcons buried last in the division.

2. No. 2 seed at stake.  The Cowboys did the Falcons a solid and played to win against the Lions Monday night in spite of Dallas already having clinched the NFC’s No. 1 seed. The Cowboys beat the Lions, clearing the way for the Falcons to earn the NFC’s No. 2 playoff seed with a victory against the Saints on Sunday at The Dome.

3. Fancy Bridge to cost more money. Mayor Kasim Reed’s administration told Atlanta City Council members in July that a new pedestrian bridge over Northside Drive would cost no more than $12.8 million, and might not even be that much. Reed’s team also said the bridge had no connection to the Falcons’ $1.5 billion Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and that it was requested by Vine City residents as part of a negotiation for community improvements to be made in conjunction with stadium construction.

4. To play or sit players. Falcons coach Dan Quinn doesn’t plan to sit players in the regular season finale. With the rash of quarterback injuries, perhaps he should consider sitting Matt Ryan and let Matt Schaub win the Saints’ game. Ryan, the most valuable player candidate, is the one player the Falcons can’t lose. Back in 2012, Falcons coach Mike Smith had the starters play in a meaningless regular-season finale and defensive end John Abraham suffered a high ankle sprain. He did nothing in the playoffs against Seattle and San Francisco and possibly cost the franchise a trip to its second Super Bowl.

5.  Super Bowl or Bust. Columnist Mark Bradley believes the Falcons have what it takes to reach Super Bowl LI.
