FLOWERY BRANCH — The Falcons are in the final stages of setting their draft board for the NFL draft, which is set for May 8-10.
They start offseason conditioning today. We’ll have some media access on Tuesday.
Also, several of the top prospects including UCLA linebacker Anthony Barr, South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney and Buffalo linebacker Khalil Mack are scheduled to visit Flowery Branch next week.
The Falcons have also been connected to all of the top tackles in the draft in Auburn’s Greg Robinson, Texas A&M Jake Matthews and Michigan’s Taylor Lewan.

Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff acknowledged that assistant general manager Scott Pioli and defensive coordinator Mike Nolan provided important background and character information on the free agency class.
Right guard Jon Asamoah and defensive end Tyson Jackson were drafted by Pioli when he was general manager of the Kansas City Chiefs. Defensive tackle Paul Soliai was with the Dolphins and played under Nolan and defensive line coach Bryan Cox, who also contributed information.

Two Big Ten cornerbacks from Georgia had strong workouts on the final day of the NFL scouting combine on Tuesday.
Former Ohio State standout Bradley Roby, of Peachtree Ridge High, and Michigan State’s Darqueze Dennard, of Twiggs County High, solidified their status as first-round draft picks for the upcoming NFL draft, which will be held May 8-10.
Roby ran the 40-yard dash in 4.39 seconds, which was the fourth-fastest time of the cornerbacks. He also finished in the top 10 in the vertical jump, bench-press and broad jump.

MOBILE, Ala. – In addition to heavily scouting the offensive and defensive linemen, the Falcons came away from their week of Senior Bowl practice impressed with three safeties.
(Also, there was more than a little buzz in personnel circles at the Senior Bowl that the Falcons covet Buffalo free safety Jairus Byrd, who could become an unrestricted free agent if he can’t reach a contract extension with the Buffalo Bills.)
